Suicide is a topic many people would rather not talk about.
It’s an uncomfortable conversation, to be sure.
But it’s a conversation that must be had, because suicide is quickly becoming an epidemic in West Michigan.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, completed suicide increased 70 percent from 2012 to 2015.
Six Grand Haven middle and high school students have died by suicide over the past several years.
These numbers are alarming.
